Our client had bought a farmhouse, who's large front garden was directly next to an extremely busy A road. As a result it was seldom used and they preferred to use the smaller back garden as the family dining and entertaining area.
We were tasked with designing a formal front garden, providing a traditional, period appropriate entrance to the property, whilst dampening as much noise as possible before it reached the house and a family friendly back garden that catered to dining, a play area for the children, use of outbuilding's and kennelling for the family dogs.
We feel the final design translated well across the formal front garden to the more contemporary, French style courtyard at the rear of the house and traffic noise was substantially decreased across the whole property's plot.
